Solesca for EPCs

One model, from the bid layout to the interconnection package.

Four steps, one model. Nothing gets rebuilt between the bid and the utility.

From bid to interconnection

Unlimited projects, so the bids you lose cost nothing but the time.

  1. 1 of 4

    Lay out

Size the array inside the setbacks, with racking and modules picked.

Schematic: site boundary, setbacks and exclusions, rows generated and yield simulated
  2. 2 of 4

    Place and string

Place the AC equipment and string the DC side. Wire losses flow into the yield you quote.

Schematic: strings assigned, DC wire losses included, the inverter, and the one-line drawn from the same model
  3. 3 of 4

    Quantify

Take an engineering-grade bill of materials off the model and price the bid against it.

Schematic: a bill of materials taken off the model, from modules and inverters through boards, meters and disconnects to transformers, poles and DC string sizes
  4. 4 of 4

    Package

Site plan, single-line and equipment settings, as a PDF plus one DXF per page.

Stampable up to three transformers, typically around 15 MW. A licensed PE partner stamps; Solesca does not.

Customer validation

Before Solesca, our sales and engineering teams were misaligned on system sizes by up to 15-50%. Now, everyone is on the same page, which drastically reduces rework.

Questions EPCs ask

Does Solesca produce a bill of materials we can bid from?

Yes. The Engineering License produces an engineering-grade bill of materials from the same model as the layout, with AC equipment placement and DC stringing, so the electrical scope is priced against placed equipment rather than a rule of thumb per watt.

What does the interconnection package contain?

Three pages: a site plan with modules, placed equipment, parcel boundaries and roads on satellite imagery; a single-line diagram from the modules to the utility grid; and an equipment settings page with inverter settings, relay settings and notes. It exports as a PDF plus one DXF per page.

Is there a size limit on stamped drawings?

Stampable drawings export for systems up to three transformers, typically around 15 MW. Larger systems still export, marked for reference only, which is worth knowing before you promise a utility a stamped set.

Does Solesca stamp our plan sets?

No. A licensed PE partner stamps at market rate through SOL Credits, or your own engineer of record does. Plan sets are an add-on to the Engineering License, licensed once for the organization.

Do wire losses show up in the yield we quote?

Yes. DC stringing includes wire losses, so the production figure reflects the conductor run you intend to install, not an idealised array that gets revised down after award.

Can estimators and engineers work in the same project?

Yes. Licensing is per seat, so estimators and sales engineers sit on the Design License and engineers on the Engineering License, on the same model. Projects are unlimited on both.
